The Husker athletic department hosted the first-ever National Girls and Women in Sports Day Wednesday at the Hawks Championship Center. At this event, local children and families were able to spend an hour interacting with their favorite female Nebraska athletes and engaging in various activities. This holiday not only celebrates current female athletes but also pays homage to the women who paved the way and acknowledges the ongoing fight for equity in sports.

First time Omaha Fashion Week student designers Burke Splichal and Mee-Mee Jackson are beginning to wrap up their designs with only two weeks until the event. Splichal's design is a denim patchwork jumpsuit and a three-piece black cotton and wool garment with a chest piece, skirt and removable sleeves. On the other hand, Jackson has four designs that are all inspired by babydoll and coquette aesthetics.

The Association of Students of the University of Nebraska passed bills opposing LB 1064 and LB 1330, which respectively aim to ban tenure and state funding for diversity, equity and inclusion training at Nebraska colleges. ASUN authorized President Paul Pechous to testify against these bills, with the support of the university's Government Liaison Committee. University representatives also plan to testify against the bills. Both bills are still in committee, awaiting further debate.
