What the shuck is happening?
After two months of power rankings, there’s finally a new No. 1 atop the Big Ten. Elsewhere, teams are making last-ditch efforts at strengthening their resumes for NCAA Tournament and NIT pushes, including an unlikely team from Lincoln.
A University of Nebraska-Lincoln junior was one of six recipients of an annual scholarship for outstanding students of business. “I think it’s very motivating to have been selected by people who have been successful and that continue to leave a lasting impression on the business world,” Whitney Schwisow, an actuarial science major, said.
Lincoln got a little bit brighter today now that Elle Woods is in town. “Legally Blonde” is making a stop in Lincoln until Feb. 25, giving the audience a night of fun.
Norfolk Southern -- the freight train company carrying the chemicals spilled in East Palestine, Ohio at the beginning of the month -- was put in charge of the cleanup. Columnist Will Cook thinks, given the history of companies cleaning up their own environmental disasters, the decision to name Norfolk Southern as the party responsible was a, well, disastrous one.
