From the city of Lincoln to New York City, Americans are recognizing the 150th birthday of Willa Cather — December 7, 1873 — with music, speeches and possibly a specialty beer. Though Cather’s birthday comes at the end of 2023, celebrations will take place all year, and several will occur here in Lincoln, including “O Pie n Beers,” a pun on Cather’s novel “O Pioneers.”
