Future graduates plan to leave Nebraska

Bekka Hitz, an Omaha native and senior special education 7-12 major, isn’t planning on staying in Nebraska after graduating, and she isn’t the only one.

According to the University of Nebraska Omaha’s Center for Public Affairs Research, the net number of people with bachelor’s degrees that left Nebraska increased from 1,104 people in 2010 to 4,548 in 2021.
