Both juniors Paul Pechous and Lauren Kruger began their leadership journeys in high school, enrolled at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2020, and participated in Freshman Campus Leadership Associates, through which they met. When they were elected to the Senate, the two became the only juniors on the student government executive team this legislative session.

And this March, at the top of the Unify UNL student election group ticket, UNL students elected Paul Pechous as president and Lauren Kruger as internal vice president.
