“Sex education is not currently mandated in Nebraska, and schools that choose to teach sex education must emphasize abstinence,” the site reads. “Because Nebraska schools are not required to provide sex education to students, school districts are left to decide what type of sex education — if any at all — they provide to youth.”

Since comprehensive sexual education isn’t easily available to most children in the U.S., many use porn as a representation of what healthy, consensual sex is even when that isn’t always what is portrayed in pornography. 

UNL students who wish to begin hormone therapy can find multiple resources to support their transition on campus, from the LGBTQA+ Center to the University Health Center’s transgender care options.

While the music industry is slowly but surely becoming a safer and more inclusive space as a result of the Me Too movement, not all issues of the music industry are exclusive to big names in Hollywood.
