On Sept. 3, students in UNL's Department of Textiles, Merchandising and Fashion Design woke up to an email detailing the university's plan to cut the program. Now, students and professors are rallying together to fight the decision at the Academic Planning Committee hearing Oct. 14.
A national survey showed that 63% of the 303 UNL students surveyed have withheld an opinion in fear of how those around might react. We asked students to tell us their thoughts on the climate at UNL, and whether they feel comfortable sharing political opinions.
