Nebraska student-athletes relied on the Training Table, the athlete-only dining center, for healthy and consistent meals. The Training Table closed in August when fall sports were postponed due to COVID-19, but recently reopened — for football players only. The Daily Nebraskan takes a look at the impact of the Training Table’s closure on other Husker student-athletes.
The Forsythe Family Program on Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs is hosting a month-long virtual summit filled with speakers, panels and documentaries about labor trafficking. Courtney Hillebrecht, director of the program, said the goal of the summit is to help audiences understand human trafficking and how they can make a difference.
Opinion columnist Brian Beach argues some Nebraskans have the opportunity to make their voice heard through a third-party vote because of how the Electoral College ensures that some states stay consistently blue or red. However, he stresses that this is a terrible idea for people who live in swing states or swing districts, like Nebraska’s second electoral district.
