This year, the usual Valentine's Day obstacle of finding a hot date is compounded by the ever-present coronavirus precautions and regulations. Need help navigating the rocky holiday on this weekend? Taken or not, Culture columnist Johnna Sisneros has you covered.
The Safer Community app used for COVID-19 test registration and campus building access at UNL this semester is an offshoot of the Safer Illinois app developed at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. We spoke with Bill Sullivan, a professor at UIUC who led the development team for the app, about how the app works and how it was received last semester by students.
Nebraska junior swimmer Madesyn Ronquillio was placed in an unique situation as COVID-19 began to sweep the nation and shut down college athletics. Her school at the time, Boise State, cut its women's swim program due to pandemic-related cost-cutting measures. Read about her journey with the sport, how she reacted to her former program's erasure and how her season has gone thus far.
