As a New Yorker by way of small-town Nebraska, UNL alumnus Ross Benes has witnessed all ends of the political spectrum. In his newest book "Rural Rebellion: How Nebraska Became a Republican Stronghold," Benes analyzes the complicated perspective of the Nebraskan conservative.
The second Global Cafe event of 2021 will feature a discussion about the concentration camps currently targeting Uighur Muslims in Xinjiang, China, and the history of the province. The conversation will be led by Christopher Heselton, associate director of the Office of Global Strategies on Thursday, Feb. 18.
