$5 million renovations of Louise Pound Hall to create a global education center to bring together all four units of the Global Affairs offices.

In 2018, primary election turnout in Nebraska was only 28%. Opinion columnist Brian Beach calls for greater participation amongst the Nebraska voter base ahead of the governor's election. Also, even Democrats, Beach argues, should pay attention to the Republican primary, given the likelihood of a forthcoming Republican governor.

Gallery 9, a local art gallery, is commemorating Sharon Lacy Cech, one of their artists who died in December, by showcasing her work throughout April.

“The global education center will increase the visibility of our support for international students,” Josh Davis, associate vice chancellor for global affairs, said. “It's going to create a center of attention, of focus, that hasn't been there before, where global [education] is elevated in a new way.”
